turkish marbling applied
Endsheets (above) designed for a fine leather hand binding of Matheu, John Wycliffe’s 1380 translation
of the gospel into Middle English. This new edition was printed and illustrated at the Tern Press in England in 1988. My inspiration for the colors and
the pattern were the hand-drawn decorated letters created for the book at the press by Nicholas Parry.
Another of my marbled papers--used here to liven up the interior
of Glenn Kotche’s award“drum”--

Covers for a newborn’s album (above). Marbling and braids use the colors of the birthstones of both parents and child. Gold-wire bird-cages hold birthstones of each and carry, as pendants, the zodiac symbols of all three.
